My main form of exercise has been walking. Walking is easy on my knees until I lose more weight. I live in a pretty decent neighborhood and near a beautiful river where I can walk. I also had my husband move our treadmill into our bedroom so I can turn the air conditioner on and shut the door and walk on super hot summer days.
While I walk I like to listen to podcasts. I recently discovered that I enjoyed listening to podcasts and learned that some of my favorite people have their own broadcasts. I thought I would do a little post of recommendations about the podcasts I’ve been listening to.
I love podcasts because you can learn so much. It’s like an endless supply of self-help, activism, interviews with your favorite people. They have so many ideas and topics that it’s almost impossible not to find a topic you’re interested in.
My #1 favorite podcast is The Rich Roll Podcast
You have probably heard of Rich Roll. He is a vegan ultra-endurance athlete, author, recovering addict, father and all around inspiring guy. I like listening to his podcasts because he interviews people who think outside of the box from a variety of life topics.
This is what his website has to say about the podcast: “Each week Rich delves deep into all things wellness with some of the brightest and most forward thinking, paradigm busting minds in health, fitness, nutrition, art, entertainment, entrepreneurship & spirituality. Intimate, deep and often intense, these are not interviews. They are conversations. A weekly aural dance designed to provoke, educate, inspire and empower you to discover, uncover, unlock and unleash your best, most authentic self.”
My favorite episodes so far:
Julie Piatt (Rich’s wife)
The other podcast I have been listening to is Earth To Us. This is a podcast from Hannah McNeely and Evan Oliver. Two vegans from the internet.
Their website describes the podcast: “Earth to Us is the show where we are waking up. We want to explore the ideas that have motivated us to rethink the way we live our lives. There are so many people and concepts on this planet that inspire us to be better and live bigger, and we are here to hit record, learn and share all of that with you. Paying attention – that is our calling.”
My favorite episodes:
As a bonus I wanted to share a little Apple Music Playlist of songs I listen to while I walk. I find these songs very uplifting and motivating. You can add and listen to my playlist HERE or here are screenshots of the songs:
I hope you have a happy, healthy & safe Fourth of July!
